Thailand - 31.12.2016 - "Lanta Animal Welfare" & cruisen mit dem Roller

English short version at the end of the German text.

English short version
The Scooter wasn’t ready at 10 a.m. and so I got me a breakfast.
After getting the scooter I had to fuel it and this was the first challenge of the day. With the help of a young lady I learned that I have to put the note into the machine, than take the faucet, put it into the tank, press “Start” and at the same moment handle the faucet.
Now I can start my tour. Nope, I wasn’t able to start the scooter. Please no jokes about “women behind the wheel”. I asked the next scooter driver for help and got the information the scooter shouldn’t be on the kickstand and the brake has to be pulled. Wow, I’ve learned much within the last 5 minutes.

Now I headed to the „Lanta Animal Welfare“ with the racing speed of 20 km/h. Hey, I’ve never driven a motorized bike. And keep in mind they are driving on the left and the traffic isn’t civilized like in Germany.

On Tripadvisor „LantaAnimal Welfare“ comes in first for the best points of interest in Thailand.
I joined a tour through the premises and I’m absolutely impressed how enthusiastic the volunteers work, how lovely the treat the animals and how much they care.

After this I rushed with 20 km/h to Saladan, the little capital of Koh Lanta.
I strolled through the streets and got me one of these grand smoothies. A small river flows through the city and I saw 2 huge water monitors. From one I got the posted shot.

Back at the „Lanta Animal Welfare“ I bought some of the Eco bags as gifts for the people at home and for the fund-raising that will happen on the blog.
At around 5 p.m. round about 20 to 30 cats come the welfare because they will get fed. They stay in the cathouse at the night to protect them from the traffic.
You'll find the "Lanta Animal Welfare" also on Facebook.

Back in my room I took a nap, dressed up then and went to the Korner-Bar.
During the evening I met some people and we had a good time - it was a great new year’s eve. It has been a long time ago that I came home at 6 a.m..
